Lifestyle Coaching

Get started

As per AHA/ACC/TOS guidelines, all patients for whom weight loss is recommended should be referred for comprehensive lifestyle intervention, which is foundational to weight loss.

The most effective behavioral weight loss treatment is a high-intensity (ie, ≥14 sessions in 6 months) intervention, followed by a long-term (≥1 y) weight maintenance program with monthly or more frequent sessions.

The Health Coach

All our health coaches are national board-certified and have trained to the highest standards in the profession.

With backgrounds such as psychologists, exercise physiologists and nutritionists, our multidisciplinary team of coaches have the skills and knowledge to support your patients in achieving their health goals.

A coach is a mentor who motivates individuals to cultivate positive health choices. A coach does not provide any clinical or professional services like mental therapy, nutrition therapy, or any medical advice, assessment or treatment.

How does the
coaching work?

Using numerous skills and strategies including motivational interviewing, the health coach partners with your patients looking to enhance their well-being through self-directed lasting changes, aligned with their values.

Obesity coaching is covered by most insurances free of copays. Many commercial insurances cover unlimited weekly visits while Medicare typically limits coverage to 20 visits per year following this schedule: One visit every week for the first month; every other week for months 2-6 then every month for months 7-12.
